OUR APPROACH

We use a whole body approach where we take into account the connection between multiple systems in your body.  We also use a whole person approach to incorporate your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being as well as your environment, lifestyle and personal goals into our customized plans.

We continuously commit to understanding and treating you as an interconnected being rather than focusing on your symptoms or conditions.

THE FIRST THING WE DO ON YOUR HEALING JOURNEY IS AN ASSESSMENT.

MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT

Our movement assessment is a 6-step funnel that yields a highly customizable and effective solution.

We use a series of objective and qualitative assessments to precisely identify any imbalance and weak links of the body. Based on the assessment, we apply systemized plan using evidence-based exercise and movement re-training to help you move better, feel better, and become more resilient.

A summarized diagram of a comprehensive movement assessment. The assessment is a 6 step funneling process that helps the practitioners distinguish the issues that require interprofessional collaboration from the issues that can be solved by exercises or hands-on therapy.

1.

POSTURE & MOVEMENT TESTING

We start by observing your overall posture/movement and fitness performance level that are relevant to your daily, recreational, or athletic activities.  From here we gather our thoughts and hypotheses on what potential issues your body may have.

2.

ORTHOPEDIC SCREENING TESTING

Based on our findings we provide specific orthopaedic screening tests to identify any potential issues requiring further examination by a medical practitioner.  We do not diagnose any conditions but want to ensure your safety throughout our rehabilitation process, which may (or may not) include a recommendation by a medical or other related professional.

3.

JOINT SPECIFIC TESTING

We provide joint specific testing to determine if you would benefit from hands on therapy and which type of treatment would work best for your unique and specific ailment.

4.

ADAPTABILITY TEST

After conducting our joint specific testing, we provide further investigation to determine if any of the mobility or pain issues you are experiencing is related to the way in which your nervous system organizes muscular coordination patterns.  The purpose of this test is to determine if movement restriction or pain can be immediately improved with the guided movement training.

5.

MUSCULAR IMBALANCE TEST

Upon completion of the adaptability test, comes the muscular imbalance test.  This test is designed to specifically answer the question of what is disrupting your optimal muscular coordination.

6.

MOVEMENT SENSE

Finally, we test your movement sense.  Movement sense is defined as your ability to perceive joint motions and detect muscular activations in various parts of your body.  In some ways this sixth and final step shapes how you would begin your movement retraining.

SUBSEQUENT
TREATMENT

Once we have completed our Assessment, we provide solutions that are directly correlated to our unique and individual assessment.

Our solution is an interconnected process that includes 3 steps.

A summary of the assessment-based solution. The solution method is 3 fold that help the clients resolve mobility restriction, actively adapt the movement training to their daily environment, and achieve strenght and long-term resilience in a step-by-step manner.

A.

RESTORING YOUR FOUNDATION

Restoring foundations is a process that helps improve the fundamental mobility and stability of the body.  It is a combination of hands-on treatment, and detailed mobility training.  The unique feature of this hands-on therapy is that you are an active participant in your own therapy, allowing you to explore and own your range of motion.

B.

ACTIVE ADAPTATION

Active adaptation is a process that will empower you to become your own solution.  Our goal is to help seamlessly integrate active rehabilitation exercise into your daily routine.  We provide guidance on how to incorporate occupational or daily movements into exercise routines, closing the gap between clinical sessions and daily life.

C.

BUILDING SUSTAINABLE RESILIENCE

Long term resiliency simply means that your body will become adaptable to handling mistakes or errors in posture or movement without impacting your progress or feeling pain.  In essence your body will become stronger and more agile.  To create long term resiliency, we use exercise science and strength training, to challenge your movement, and your body, in a balanced way.  We incorporate the use of fitness equipment, and free weights to accomplish this.
